Teach Your Dog to Swim - Quick Tip!

We've got one more sunny weekend in store here in Seattle...if you've had trouble trying to get your puppy into the water this summer, don't give up! Here's something fun to try!

What you'll need:
- A little bag of Goldfish crackers
- A nice beach with little or no wave action
- A hungry dog or puppy

Toss a few crackers to your puppy on the beach, and play around a little. Then, head to the water, and toss a couple of crackers right into the water, a scant 1-2 inches out from the sand. The crackers will float, and if your puppy is interested enough in the crackers, he/she will reach out and snatch them off the top of the water. Toss a few more, increasingly further from the beach. Most puppies will willingly walk out into the water to follow the floating crackers, and often will begin to swim as they get further out. Its fun, positive, and the great thing is that they are instantly rewarded the moment they start to swim.

Enjoy! And let us know how it goes!
