Project Puppy: Nathan Graduates!

It was six wonderful months ago that I got to meet my little Project Puppy, Nathan. His head tilted to the left, he circled when he walked and his sweet personality was impossible to beat! Every Monday and Friday morning he greeted me with his sweet Dane song as we got together for our Agility training. The determination in Nathan was much stronger than any other dog I have ever worked with; any obstacle I presented to him… he found a way to figure it out! Even with his neurological issues, if he couldn’t figure it out the first time, he would always rush to try it again.

As the weeks progressed, we conquered High Jumps, Tunnels, and Weave Poles. By the end of October he was sailing over 16 inch Jumps, balancing on narrow beams and even running over the equipment on his own… just to show off a little! We were honored to be mentioned in a story on KOMO 4 News for our work, and Nathan proudly wore my Seattle Sounders scarf to cheer on the home team! Finally, this month, Nathan found a perfect forever home with a new Great Dane brother named Danny Boy.

We hope you have enjoyed following Nathan’s story as much as we have! It is with tears of joy that I write this final blog (but really… if you know me, you know that I am kind of a crier anyway…) and from everyone at Riverdog we wish him well!
